Anonymous said: do you have any tips for beginner drawers?
Hello! The first tip I want to give you is: “observe”. Use reference photos/images when you want to draw. When you draw, ask yourself “How wide is this part compared to that? How steep is this angle compared to that?”
Start with a very simple sketch of the shapes, then, refine it adding details, but don’t forget to focus on the whole drawing.
If you didn’t see, I wrote a little tutorial with some tips for beginner here. I’m going to wrote other ones in the next weeks.
I recommend you to watch artists streaming and youtube videos, that is the best way to learn the right movement to draw lines, to see digital tecniques and brush settings. If you use digital software pay attention to the opacity, hardness of tools.
If you search for a good lecture about beginner tecniques, I strongly reccomend Betty Edwards’s book “Drawing on the right side of the brain”, that give you interesting exercises to improve your observation and drawing skill.
